On November 14, 2016, a violent incident unfolded on I-75 in Florida when Deputy Dean Bardes pursued a speeding driver, later identified as Edward Strother. After stopping, Strother attacked the deputy, knocking him to the ground and repeatedly punching him while trying to grab his gun.
As the deputy struggled and feared for his life, a passerby, Ashad Russell—who had a concealed-carry permit—stepped in. After warning Strother to stop and being ignored, Russell fired three shots when the deputy pleaded for help, killing the attacker and saving the officer’s life.
Authorities later ruled the shooting legally justified under Florida’s self-defense laws, and Russell was praised as a hero for his actions. FULL VIDEO BELOW (18+)
